Alice Ristorante from 21 March 2014 is inside of Eataly Smeraldo. Designer furnishings and hints of the warm atmosphere of the southern hemisphere, together with gastronomic excellence. Viviana Varese and Sandra Ciciriello’s Alice Ristorante, maintains the soul of the previous restaurant, introducing some notable additions.
On the second floor of Oscar Farinetti’s Milanese store Viviana and Sandra welcome their customers into a spacious, framed room illuminated by the full-length windows overlooking Piazza XXV Aprile. The gourmet restaurant can host around 70 guests in an environment of very personalised design, thanks to plants and crafts hand-picked by the Chef and the Maitre which recall the sea and the atmosphere of the south. They represent the starting point of a journey through the senses of touch, sight, smell and taste.
The tables are Riva 1920, made from solid oak, bringing back the characteristic posts which signalled the waterways in Venice. The Knoll Tulip chairs with their distinctive chalice shape pay homage to the designer Eero Saarinen. Next to the cutlery by Giò Ponti we find ceramics designed by the chef and hand-made for Alice Ristorante. The open-view kitchen is a unique creation by Molteni. The sculptures on the tables are the creations of Enrico Paolucci (the very same artist who painted the great fish on the walls of Alice Ristorante in Via Adige). Graphics menu is curated by Mauro Strada.
